Day 17 - Making our Way Home

Travel Fatigue

sunny 85 °F

We left the ship at 8 AM for the airport in Bergen. The ship had become our second home, and it was hard to leave. Viking has a unique way of designing their ships to provide a multitude of seating areas or lounges that are like your living room or patio. The pool area had a retractable glass roof that was closed most of the trip. The food was excellent. We put on more pounds than we care to admit.

Our Air France flight left on time. We must say that their cabin service and food were outstanding. Although we landed on time, there was another plane at our gate, and we were delayed getting off the plane by about 45 minutes. Unfortunately, after going through immigration and customs and picking up our luggage, we were told that it was too late to try to change terminals, go through security, and catch our plane. Air France put us up at the Airport Radisson, and we were able to fly home the next morning.
